Proverbs 3:13

Dear Children,
Proverbs is an Old Testament book in the Bible. The Book of Proverbs most likely was written by King Solomon, the son of King David. It is one of the Books of Wisdom found in Holy Scripture. It is written as if a father is passing on wisdom to his child about a vast variety of advice.

Proverbs 3:13
Happy the man who finds wisdom,
The man who gains understanding!
For her profit is better than profit in silver
and better than gold is her refuge."

I use to have so many questions about the faith.  I wanted to know what was right and know for certain that I was on the right path. I would ask, Why this? Why that? That's weird, why do that? Now, I attest that beginning that journey of asking questions was a great gift that has led to a peace and happiness that I did not know existed and could never find in the world alone. But my questions had to change from challenging truth to seeking truth. It is the difference between asking with pride, and asking with humility. May we never stop asking questions; but grow in humility all the time. Never stop seeking God and His Truth, no matter how much the answers challenge you.

It is like this: When a person has symptoms of an illness they begin asking questions. Many times it leads to answers we do not like. The doctor says to exercise, or eat better, or let go of unnecessary activities, or take a medicine that has side effects. In any other these cases, the patient will find increased wellness if they accept the truth and act on it without questioning more. This is how it is with the spiritual life too. We need to seek trusted advisors, and follow their advice, accepting the difficult answers that challenge our minds and lives.

Dear Guardian Angels;
Open our hearts to follow God every day
Protect us and our families.
Guide us each closer to the Great God,
who made us and loves each of us Deeper then we ever can imagine.
Help us to put aside our ideas and embrace God's instead.
Amen.

Mary, Mother, pray for us.

God,
Fill us with your Wisdom
Embrace us and give us an increase of faith
Let us know Your Real Love.
And live it.
Amen.

                                                                    Love,
                                                                    Mom
